How the Grant Works
The Business Basics Grant is designed to help small businesses access $7,500 in funding to improve their operations in three key areas:
- Professional Business Advice – Business planning, financial advice, mentoring, and more.
- Strategic Marketing – Develop a marketing plan, improve branding, or implement a CRM system.
- Website Upgrades – Build or refresh your website, add eCommerce features, or integrate with marketing tools.
The Application Process – Two Simple Stages
The grant application process is divided into two easy stages, making it less overwhelming and allowing you to take one step at a time.
Stage 1 – Registration of Interest (ROI)
This first stage is all about getting your foot in the door with minimal information required.
- What You Need to Do
- Submit basic business details to show you’re eligible (name, contact, and business information).
- Confirm that your business meets the eligibility criteria (explained below).
- When – Registrations of Interest are open from Monday 30th September!
- How Long Does It Take? – Only a few minutes! It’s a quick form designed to gather essential info.
- Next Steps – If selected, you’ll be invited to submit a more detailed full application (Stage 2), but you don’t need to worry about that yet.
Stage 2 – Full Application (Only if Selected)
If your Registration of Interest is successful (After Friday 11th October), you’ll move on to Stage 2. Only businesses that pass Stage 1 are invited to apply for Stage 2, meaning you’re already one step ahead of the competition.

- Submit a quote from us for the service or project you want to spend the $7,500 grant on (e.g., website upgrade, marketing strategy).
- Explain how the project will benefit your business (e.g., increase sales, improve efficiency).
- When: Full applications will be open from 23rd October to 12th November.
- Next Steps: If your full application is approved, the $7,500 is paid upfront, so you can start your project right away!

Are You Eligible?
To apply for this grant, your business must meet the following criteria:
- Small business with less than 5 employees.
- Queensland-based (your main business location must be in Queensland with an active ABN.
- A turnover of less than $300,000 for the last financial year.
- At least 1-year trading history.
- You haven’t received funding from an earlier round of the Business Basics grant.
- Not be insolvent or have owners/directors that are undischarged or currently bankrupt.
